The Agency for Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan begins checking commodity markets

The Agency for Protection and Development of Competition announced that it is starting to check all socially important commodity markets in order to reduce prices for products and services for the population. The beginning of the verification measures was announced by the chairman of the Agency Serik Zhumangarin at a government meeting.

Which markets will be tested? It is reported that these will be markets for socially important food products, fuel and lubricants and building materials, railway and public transport, education, mobile communications, Internet services, pharmaceuticals, medical products, laboratory services and communal services.

Also, due to frequent complaints of businessmen, all commodity exchanges for the sale of petroleum products, liquefied gas, electric energy will be checked for price collusion and restrictions on access to trading.

In addition, the Agency wants to reduce the prices for the services of payment organizations: for example, when transferring funds for utilities, services of state monopolies, public and private operators.

To sum it up, in the near future we can expect new decisions and actions of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition to reduce the cost of services and products of commodity markets for the population.
